Moist Chocolate Cake

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarina
  • 1/4 shortening or oil
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups unsifted flour
  • 2/3 cup chocolate powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 2 cups butter milk
 

Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla and beat well. Combine chocolate powder, flour, baking soda and salt. Add to cream mixture alternately the butter milk beginning and end at dry ingredients. Pour into greased pan and bake 350ºF for 45 minutes.
